Dana Judkins

Dana Dowell Judkins, 84, of Little Rock died Tuesday, February 13, 2018. She was born April 23, 1933 in Butte, Montana to Dudley and Elizabeth Smith Dowell. She graduated in 1951 from Bronxville High School in Bronxville, New York, attended Converse College in South Carolina, Julliard School of Music and Hunter College in New York City. She sang with Professional Opera Companies in New York, Colorado and Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Arkansas, was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and received a Bachelor of Music Degree and a Music Education Degree from University of Arkansas in Little Rock.
Dana was active in the Memphis and Little Rock Junior Leagues, past president of Little Rock Musical Coterie, a board member of ASMTA (Arkansas Music Teachers Association). She taught music in the public and private schools and taught piano and voice privately. Dana was also an active member of PCRW (Pulaski County Republican Women).
Dana was a licensed life and health insurance agent. She and her husband Bill owned and operated Judkins Insurance and Financial Services Inc. Agency which they started October 1, 1990.
She was married to Billy R. Judkins for over 62 years. She has two wonderful sons, Dr. Hunter Judkins and Dr. Jeffrey Judkins; five very special grandchildren, Camille Boswell (Greg), Kelsey Carrisozo (Gustavo), Keaton Kuthbert (Loki), Hunter Kyle Judkins and Kiana Judkins; great-grandchildren, Esmc Luna Carrisoza and Aldo Luis Carrisoza; daughters-in-law, Carole Krupp Judkins and Becky Judkins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dudley Dowell, Jr.
Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Church, Little Rock Musical Coterie Scholarship Fund, or ASMTA Scholarship Fund.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2018 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 1000 North Mississippi, Little Rock, AR. Arrangements by Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home.
