Dana Lynne Johnson, age 56, of Bryant, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023.
She was born on December 2, 1966, in Orange, California, the daughter of Wayne Barnett and Rebecca Hampton Barnett. On December 31, 1986, she married the love of her life Matthew Johnson, who has preceded her in death in 1991. She was also preceded by her father; her maternal grandparents Elwood and Dolly Hampton; and her paternal grandparents Lee and Ola Barnett
After graduating from Lake Hamilton High School in 1984, she pursued her passion for nursing and obtained a nursing degree from Quapaw Vocational Technical School in 1989. Her dedication to her field was unparalleled, and she touched the lives of countless patients throughout her career.
Dana was known not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her warm and loving personality. She had an infectious laugh that brightened the spirits of those around her. Her kind heart knew no bounds, and she never hesitated to go above and beyond to help others.
Outside of work, Dana found joy in various hobbies and interests. She was an avid baker who delighted in creating delicious treats for her loved ones. Her family and friends will always cherish memories of her homemade dishes that brought smiles to their faces. Dana also enjoyed spending time with her children; they were the light of her life.
In her leisure time, Dana could often be found exploring local flea markets, searching for unique treasures. She had an eye for hidden gems and loved finding special items to add to her collection. Additionally, she took pleasure in watching crime shows and Lifetime movies, finding comfort in the suspenseful stories they presented. Dana's faith played a significant role in her life. As a devoted Christian, she found solace and strength through her beliefs. Her unwavering faith served as a guiding light that inspired others around her.
Dana leaves behind a legacy filled with love, compassion, and selflessness. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She is survived by her children, who will continue to carry her spirit forward.
She is survived by her children, Ciarra Barnes (Earnest), Jaidyn Barnett, Shelby Smith; her mother, Rebecca Barnett; her brother Stephen Barnett (Susan); her grandchildren, Tyjae McKillion, Jasmine Miller, Kameron Cannon; and one nephew Kellun Barnett; extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 25, 2023, prior to the service. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 25,2023, with Bro. Will Culberson, Bro. Richard Baxter, and Bro. Dennis Anderson officiating in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.
Internment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, in Mena.
