Dallas Andrew Hughes, 81, of Scott, formerly of North Little Rock, son of Jeff and Ethel Hughes, passed away at his home Wednesday, October 10, 2007. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad in 1988 after 36 years. He also served in the Navy during WWII.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Erma Lunsford Hughes; children Peggy and Dwayne Owens of Rogers, Dr. Ron and Nancy Hughes of Little Rock, Brenda and Danny Bennett of Little Rock, Rick and Julie Hughes of Benton, Randy and Kim Hughes of Scott; seven grandchildren, Arlisa Regier of Rogers, Cory Bennett of Bryant, Alicia Owens of Portland, Oregon, Drew Hughes of Nashville, Tennessee, Lindsay Hughes of Memphis, Tennessee, Gunner Hughes of Benton and Tori Hughes of Scott; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Adavene Ward of Quitman, Melva Middleton of Peoria, Illinois, Ragene Stark of Heber Springs; close relative and friends, Allen and Carolyn Holland, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Ethel Hughes; a brother, Lowell Hughes; and a sister Guyneth Holland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 5025 Lynch Drive, North Little Rock 72117 or American Cancer Society, 901 North University, Little Rock 72207. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
