Dallas Holbrook, age 83 of Arkadelphia died Thursday, Aug 31, 2006 at his home. He was born Feb. 11, 1923 in Ashland, Mississippi the son of the late R.D. and Bessie Moody Holbrook. He was a retired Clark county extension agent for 29 years, a radio operator on a C-47 in the European Theater of WWII serving in the Army Air Corp. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Arkadelphia and was preceded in death by his wife Martha Elizabeth Carr Holbrook and one brother, Lester Vivian Holbrook.
Survivors two sons, Bruce Holbrook of Richmond, VA and Rex Holbrook of Arkadelphia; two brothers, John Holbrook of Ashland, MS and William Seth Holbrook of Memphis; five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, Sept 3, 2006 at Liberty United Methodist Church in Ashland, MS with Bro. Williams Kemp officiating. Interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery. Memorials services will be 11:00 AM Monday, Sept 4, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in Arkadelphia with Bro. Daniel Kirkpatrick officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Saturday Sept 2, 2006 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church c/o the Men's Bible Class.
