Cynthia Marie Summerville, 65, entered Heaven's gates July 10, 2023. Cynthia was born September 2, 1957, to Charles and Mary Sue McElroy in Hannibal, Missouri.
She is preceded in Heaven by her beloved mother and sister.
The oldest of six treasured children, she hit the ground running with her role of big sister and protector. Cindy loved caring for those in need whether it be animals of all sorts or patients at work. She had perseverance and a strong desire to do good by others. She always looked for the lesson and was more than happy to let others shine in the spotlight while she handled it behind the scenes. She was the best cook around and had a goofy sense of humor that her family adored. She never met a stranger and was always helping someone, somewhere. She enjoyed time with her family and close friends, gardening, spending time in nature, encouraging others, and most recently, online shopping-to the occasional annoyance of her dear husband, Clayton Summerville. Cindy and Clayton married on May 17, 1994, and have enjoyed years of deep love and respect, blending their two families, traveling, and remaining each other’s constant throughout life. She is mother to Vincent, Angela, and Joseph and would tell you she didn’t have a favorite, but that she loved each uniquely. She leaves behind seven beautiful grandchildren she loved deeply and two stepsons who held a special place in her heart. Her loss is immeasurable and leaves her loved ones brokenhearted. However, her next journey is one that she has worked so hard for and we are happy for her walk with Jesus. “In his great mercy, he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” - 1 Peter 1:3 We lift her up in prayer and love and ask that in her honor you go pet a puppy..or a chicken.
