Cynthia Griffin

April 17, 1941 — October 27, 2019

Cynthia Griffin

On Sunday, October 27, 2019 with her family surrounding her, Cynthia N. Griffin of Beebe, Arkansas, went to Heaven peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Savior.

She was born April 17, 1941 as the oldest daughter of Wallace Joel and Edna Wareham Sampson of Fort Smith, Arkansas.  She was a long-time member of Union Valley Baptist Church and was retired from ASU Beebe.

In 1960, Cynthia met the love of her life, Buddy R. Griffin.  On March 1, 1961 they married and embarked on a new life together.  It’s a love that lasted over fifty-eight years.

They have three children, Kimberly (Tim) Fowler, Pamela (Jerry) Todd, all of Beebe, Daniel (Ginger) Griffin of Shirley.

In addition to her children, Cynthia is survived by six grandchildren, Derek (Allison) Fowler, Dustan (Courtney) Fowler, Haylie (Casey) Wright, Cody (Sarah) Todd, Austin Decker and Cody Decker; and four great granddaughters Avery, Alexis, Anlea and Sadie.

Also surviving Cynthia are her two sisters, Sandy (Bobby) Pate of Texarkana, Texas and Mary (Jeff) Brown of Austin, Texas; nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Tyler Jordan Fowler, and one great grandson, Lane Cole Wright.

Mom was loved by many, and she loved her family, friends and serving her Lord.  She always said her “job” was going to be rocking her babies in Heaven.  We know she is doing that now.

Memorials may be made to Union Valley Baptist Church, Arkansas Alzheimer’s Association, 10201 W. Markham #100, Little Rock, AR  72205 or Arkansas Hospice of Searcy, 410 N. Apple St., Searcy, AR  72143.

Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.  Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2019, at Union Valley Baptist Church, with burial in Grissard Cemetery.  Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home.  www.smithfamilycares.com
