Coy Franklin "Butch" Carr Jr. age 64 of Copperas Cove, Texas died Saturday, November 7, 2009 in Copperas Cove. He was born January 25, 1945 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas the son of the late Coy Franklin Carr Sr. and Alpha Sue Smith Carr. Butch was raised in Alpine area and served in the United States Army for over twenty-one years of service and was a Vietnam veteran. After retiring from the U. S. Army, he was a truck driver, mechanic and security guard. He was active in Little League Sports and volunteered as a coach while his children were growing up. His first wife, Eva Nell Osborn Carr preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Carr of Copperas Cove, Texas, two daughters, Treva Hopkins and husband, Paul of Killeen, Texas; Tana Roush and husband, Brian of Clarksville, Tennessee; five grandchildren; one brother, John Carr and wife, JoAnn of Whitewright, Texas and one sister, Alpha Lee Porter and husband, Doug of Alpine, Arkansas.
Graveside services will be 10:00 Am Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Oak Grove Cemetery near Alpine with Bro. Billy Thomason officiating. Burial will full military honors will be in Oak Grove Cemetery by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
