Cordelia Shuffield

Cordelia Shuffield, age 101 of Arkadelphia died Monday, June 19, 2006. She was born Feb. 24, 1905 in Bismarck, AR the daughter of the late W. T. and Magdalene Cash Sheets. She was a retired cafeteria worker in the Bismarck public school and a member of the MT. Olive Baptist Church. She was active in the Arkadelphia Senior Adult Center and was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Shuffield, two sons, C.O. and Harris L. "Sonny" Shuffield.


Survivors include one son, Paul Dean Shuffield, Sr. and wife, Jo Ann of Malvern; three daughters, Gennievee Jackson and husband, Robert Elwin of Arkadelphia, Shelba Jean McWha of Fayetteville, and Juan Marie "Joie" Stephens of Magnolia; two daughters-in-law, Opal Shuffield of Bismarck and Martha Shuffield of Hot Springs; seventeen grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren and eighteen great-great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 21, 2006 in Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Rev. John Small officiating. Interment will be in the Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Valley Cemetery fund c/o Gennievee Jackson, 3483 Hwy 51 So, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
