Cordelia Gladden

Cordelia Mae Gladden died Monday, July 30, 2007 at the age of 99. Dee was born May 13, 1908 in Hammondsville, Arkansas (White Co.). She was the 8th of 12 children born to Samuel and Mattie Foster. Her parents as well as sisters, Nella Prothro and Gay Gladden and brothers, Roy, Howard, Tom, Johnnie, Hulon, Woodrow, Howell and McKinney Foster preceded her in death. Her husband Raymond Gladden also predeceased her in 1975. She is survived by one sister, Era Smiley, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dee spent several years of her life living in Oklahoma where her parents found work during the depression and where she also worked and owned a business. Later she moved to North Little Rock where she has lived for the past 58 years. The greatest joys in her life were being with her family, watching televised baseball and spending time with friends. Her desire was to always be available for family members when they needed her.
