Connie Sue Barnes, 71, of Benton, Arkansas passed away February 18, 2016. She was born April 13, 1944 in Brunswick, Georgia to the late Thomas Wilbur and Thelma Lucille Poindexter Burns.
Connie loved to garden and grew the most beautiful flowers. She was a fabulous cook. Her holiday ham was a family favorite. Connie's grandchildren were very special to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. She sewed clothes for her children and knitted hats, gloves, scarves, and slippers for everyone. Connie enjoyed reading and feeding hummingbirds.
Preceding Connie in death are her husband, Kenneth Barnes; first husband, Robert William Broderick; parents; brother, Thomas Burns; and step-father Benjamin Corbett.
Left to cherish her memories are two daughters, Dana Broderick of Okeechobee, Florida and Sandy Anthony of Benton, Arkansas; son-in-law, Joseph Lamoureux of Ocklawana, Florida; grandchildren, Ashley Anthony, Garrett Anthony, and Danielle Stevens; great-grandson, Luke Stevens; two sisters, Joann Vives and husband Tony of Clewiston, Florida and Brenda Brady and husband Donald of Clewiston, Florida; and many extended family members and friends who loved Connie and will miss her always.
Family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas 72015. Funeral service, officiated by Joseph Lamoureux, will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Traskwood Cemetery with Mike Still, Garrett Anthony, Joseph Lamoureux, and Jared Magby serving as pallbearers.
