Concetta J. Babbitt, 88 of Sherwood, AR departed on Sunday, June 7, 2009. She was born in Buffalo, NY to the late Cosimina ?Mary? (Borzillieri) and Collogero ?Charles? DiMartino, both Italian immigrants. She had two brothers who predeceased her, Sammy and Angelo (Rose) DiMartino.
Concetta ?Jetta? married her first husband Vito ?Toots? Mirabella in 1943 and they shared 25+ years together. They had two children Carl Mirabella Sr. of Wheatfield, NY and Charlene Mirabella (Robert Boot) of Australia. Jetta cared for her husband through many years of illness. After his passing, she remarried to Grover C. Babbitt, Jr. in 1973. Her family grew with the addition of Step-children Rich (Joanne) Babbitt, Ken Babbitt (Edla Reynolds), Sandy (Scott) Dolehanty and the late H. Alan Babbitt. Jetta and Grover shared 25 years of marriage.
In 2002 Jetta moved to Sherwood, AR where she lived with her Grand-daughter Lynn Mirabella-Finnell and her two children Ashley and Zackary, until Oct. 2006 when her health began to fail and she moved into a nursing center. She loved to cook for Lynn and her family and was an avid romance novel reader. Jetta was also a breast and colon cancer survivor.
A loving Mother, cherished Grandmother of 10, Great-grandmother of 13, Aunt and friend to many, she will be dearly missed. A special thanks to her loving caregivers/friends of Sherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the nurses and staff of Select Specialty Hospital in Little Rock, AR. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Rushford, NY.
