Collis Jewell "Cobb" Francis, Sr., age 93 of Arkadelphia died Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the Twin Rivers Health & Rehab. He was born Oct 6, 1913 in Clark County, the son of the late, Thomas E. and Sidney Sossoman Francis. He was a retired logger and truck driver, a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII & Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Clements Francis.
Survivors include one son, Collis Jewell Francis, Jr. of Sulpher, OK; two daughters, Cyndia Burress of Arkadelphia and Peggy L. Edington of Gurdon; one sister, Margie Swain of Danville; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007 in Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Rev. Temon Jenkins and Rev. Ronnie Hardin.
Pallbearers will be James Jenkins, Donny, Jason, Erik and Jeffery Edington, Scott Brown, David Markham, Tommy and Danny Francis and Ronnie Fields.
Interment will be in the Golden Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
