Clyde Whitman Packer, Jr., 87, of Benton, Arkansas passed away April 8, 2018. He was born November 10, 1930 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Clyde, Sr., and Susan (Harris) Packer. Clyde proudly served in the United States Navy in which he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service medal. He worked many years doing maintenance work for schools. Clyde enjoyed working outside. His passions were spending time with his grandchildren and spoiling his cats. Preceding Clyde in death are his parents; and son, Jeff Packer. He is survived by two daughters, Tonya Anthony and her husband Toby of Benton, Arkansas and Julia Packer Vergari and husband Michael of Las Vegas, Nevada; son, Brandon Packer of Benton, Arkansas; and a host of family and friends who love Clyde and will miss him always. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 16 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Services entrusted to Smith-Benton Funeral Home.
