Clovis W. Reid

November 23, 1928 — December 24, 2021

Clovis W. Reid, age 93, of Benton, formerly of Hot Springs, went home to be with the Lord Friday, December 24, 2021.

He was born on November 23, 1928, in Dierks, the son of Aaron and Mazie Reid. He is preceded in death by his parents.

After graduating from Dierks Public Schools in 1946, he proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. Upon release from the United States Army, he was employed by Dierks Forests as a Land Contractor, Sales and Credit Department. On February 9, 1955, he married the love of his life, Frances Tutt. He worked for Dierks Forests for twenty years, then worked in the Credit Department and served as Regional Credit Manager for Weyerhaeuser for twenty years until retirement. He attended the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University in 1977 and 1978.

Clovis was a faithful Christian who attended Airport Road Church of Christ in Hot Springs and Northside Church of Christ in Benton. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He served the Lake Hamilton School District by being a board member for ten years. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with his whole heart, and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Frances Reid; his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Judy Reid of Hot Springs; his daughter, Cindy Prescott of Bryant; two children, Melissa (Steven) Runyon of Benton and Reid Prescott of Little Rock; three great-grandchildren, Blakely Runyon, Charlie Runyon and Rose Runyon; one step-granddaughter, Brandi McIntosh of Benton; one step-grandson, Mike Pickett of Hot Springs; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Charles Jackson of Fayetteville; nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 28, 2021, with Bro. Charles Jackson officiating in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery with United State Army Military honors under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Visitation will be 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Reid Prescott, Steven Runyon, Marty Quinn, Charles Parker, Chase Quinn and Mike Moore.
