Clovis E. Crawford, age 86, of Glenwood, died Thursday, February 17, 2011. He was born on February 9, 1925, at Nathan, the son of William Wiley "Bill" Crawford and Nancy Ann Floyd Crawford. He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Ima Crawford, Snow Crawford, Irma Crawford, Lola Crawford and Eula McRae; and one brother, Alvis Crawford. He was a member of Church of Christ and served as associate minister, song leader and Bible teacher in churches wherever he lived. He was a graduate of Harding University in Searcy and received a Masters' Degree from Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee. He was the first superintendent of Houston Christian School in Houston, Texas and owned a Christian book and office supply store in Houston. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lorene Davis Crawford of Glenwood; one niece, Betty Nell McRae of Hot Springs Village; and one nephew, Terry McRae of Kyle, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 21, 2011, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with E. J. Johnson officiating. Interment will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doyle Shields, Phillip Klopfenstein, Terry McRae, Chuck Golden, Presley Robertson and Ken Harding. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
