Cliva Robinson, Jr. (C.B.)

Cliva B. Robinson, Jr. (C.B.) received his eternal wings on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. He was born in Little Rock, the son of the late Emma Jordan Robinson and Cliva B. Robinson, Sr. He was also predeceased by his brother, Rhodell Robinson.

He was a graduate of Little Rock Central High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era in Helicopter Aviation.  Pastor Robinson received his undergraduate degree from Philander Smith College, Masters of Ministry at Andersonville Theological Seminary, graduating Magna Cum Laude and Doctoral of Divinity from the University of Washington.  He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 37 years in management in Postal Operations and Marketing as Business Development Specialist.

Rev. C.B. was ordained as a deacon at Highland Park where he taught New Members classes.  He united with First Baptist Church S.A. Jones NLR under the pastorship of his brother, William L. Robinson. Rev. C.B. Robinson was ordained and served as Associate Minister Liaison.  He became a full time Chaplain for the Little Rock Police Department and Chaplain and Deputy for Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, actively providing security for Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Commission during various activities.  He accepted God’s call to preach the Gospel and later accepted the Pastorship of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in east Little Rock.

He leaves behind his cherished wife of 42 years, Arlean; two daughters, Britney Green (Michael) and Tara Robinson; brother, Pastor William L. Robinson; sister, Toni Robinson; and two beautiful granddaughters. In addition, Rev. Robinson leaves to cherish his memory many relatives and friends, a special sister-in-law, Rosie Cook, and loving cousin, Jackie Smith.

Special recognition to Mrs. Johnny Grider, Russ Gillium and John Collins for all the special care given.

Family hour will be Tuesday, May 25 from 6-7 p.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 1920 East Sixth St., Little Rock.  Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 26 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist SA Jones, 811 Scipio Jones, North Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, please give a gift in memory to the Martin Luther King Jr. Commission (https://www.arkingdream.org/) or the MD Anderson Cancer Institute (https://www.mdanderson.org/)
