Clisty Brown

Clisty L. Brown, 86, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021. She was born May 8, 1935, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was able to spend many memorable years living in Ocala, FL with her loving husband where she was a member of The Church of the Springs. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed writing poems and listening to audio books. She was a wonderfully devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother and affectionately known as "Nanny" by all who knew her. She had an infectious smile that could (and did) light up a room and time spent with her family was her greatest joy. Clisty was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Brown Jr.; mother, Cora Perkins; brother, Willis Payne; sister, Delores Welsch; and son, Thomas Emerson. While she will be dearly missed, we know she is beyond thankful for the chance to be reunited with those that have passed.

She is survived by her children James (Jeanie) Emerson, Janice (Bill) Holden, and Mike (Pattie) Emerson and grandchildren Allen (Jennifer) Emerson, Joanna (Josh) Blocker, Christina (Brad) Jackson, Nichole (Robert) Charbarneau, Shelley Montoya, Kaitlin (Clayton) Schmidt, Mika (Sean) Finney. She was also a beloved “Nanny” to her 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home at 8801 Knoedl Ct. in Little Rock, Arkansas. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park at 1:00pm, Monday, December 27, 2021.
