Clinton Melvin Pifer "Daddy Kent", age 89 of Arkadelphia formerly of Hot Springs passed away Dec. 6, 2009. He was born May 19, 1920, in Fayetteville, the son of the late Burt Pifer and Cora Pifer Dinwiddie. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, a member of Third Street Baptist Church, and retired from General Motors in Bedford, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 45 years, Edna Pifer, and his second wife of 13 years Margaret Womack Pifer, his brother Alfred Pifer, one sister Vista Bishop, and one daughter Marcia Odulio.
He is survived by a sister Marie Dillard of California, one daughter Shelia Woodson, son-n-law Teddy Mac Woodson of Arkadelphia; step-daughters Linda Dixon of Arkadelphia, and Cindy Sanford of Texarkana, grandchildren Leanne Holt, Ty Woodson, Tara Hughes, Missy Allen, Robbie Tincher, Sophia Sullivan, Garrett Odulio, three step grandsons Hal and Byron Dixon and Sonny Sanford, thirteen great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and one step great-great granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday December 9, 2009 at the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Greg Latham officiating. Burial will be in the Neighbors Cemetery at Midway. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are to the Van Fund of Third Street Baptist Church.
