Clinton Lee Counts age 82, of Bismarck died Saturday, November 19, 2005 at his home. He was born March 24, 1923 in Bismarck, AR, the son of the late Gus and Ada Sanders Counts. He retired from Reynolds Metal Co., Jones Mill Plant after 33 years and was a farmer and cattleman. Mr. Counts was a member and deacon of Bismarck Baptist Church, served on the Bismarck School Board and a former member of Hot Spring County Cattleman's Association. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Louie, Gene and John Counts, one sister, Opal Ledbetter, and one grandson, Joseph Counts and two close friends, Tom Aimsworth and Louis Henson.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Betty Anderson Counts, one son, Stephen Counts and his wife, Barbara of Bismarck; one daughter, Vicki Mayer of Bismarck; mother-in-law, Willie Anderson Chessman of Bismarck; three sisters, Bonnie Nichols, Ruby Montgomery and Jo Ann Shuffield all of Bismarck; four grandchildren, Shelly Morgan and her husband, Terry; Justin Collie and his wife, Karla; James Counts and his wife, Wendy and Stephanie Counts, seven great-grandchildren, Destiny and Dakota Baswell; Trace and Tessa Collie; Shyann and Allie Counts and Seth Anderson, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 22, 2005 in Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel in Arkadelphia with Bro. Hollis Looper and Paul Dean Shuffield officiating. Interment will be in Marcus Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home with family receiving friends 6-8 PM Monday. Pallbearers will be Waymon Prince, Wendell Prince, Adolph Hughes, John Hughes, Pete Smith and James Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Reynolds Metal Co., Jones Mill Plant, Ralph Barringer, Hershel Nichols, Tommy Wade, Melvin Buck, Bobby Bennett, Rubin Hardin, Wallace Counts, William T. Morehead, Robert Smith, Arkansas Hospice of Hot Springs and Dr. Steven Divers. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 1305 Central Ave. Hot Springs, AR 71901.
