Cleda Joyce Reed

Cleda Joyce Reed, age 75, of Story, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012. She was born on November 24, 1936, at Washita, the daughter of John Louis Smith and Hattie Bradshaw Smith. On April 11, 1953, she was married to Sherleen Reed. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James "Dandy" Smith; and two sisters, Fern Avery and Geneva Gabel. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and hunting. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Sherleen Reed of Story; three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Howard "Butch" West of Springdale, Marcia and Jerry Summitt of Sims and Jaree and Brien McKenna of Story; five grandchildren, Chandra Ellison, Jeremy West, Michael Summitt, Lorie McCullough and Bryna Criswell; six great-grandchildren, Mikayla Ellison, Shelby West, Karston Criswell, Cain McCullough, Eli McCullough and Preslie Criswell; one sister, Beulah Dean Horne of Schertz, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 18, 2012, in the Story Church of God with Bro. Roger Harper officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Summitt, Jeremy McCullough, Cole Reed, James Short, Bobby Joe Irons and Gene Mayberry. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
