Cleburn Leon "Buck" Harlan, 90, of Romance, Arkansas, died Thursday, April 8, 2010. He was born August 25, 1919, the son of Oley V. and Jessie (Nelson) Harlan. An Army veteran of WWII, he served in the European Theater. He was a life long resident of the Red Hill community, White County, near Romance and was a member of the Romance Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-two years, Vina Belle (House) Harlan, his parents, a sister Carnell Adams, and a brother, Frank Harlan.
Survivors include two sons, Don L. Harlan and wife Dr. Mary Harlan of Searcy and Rodger Harlan and wife Saundra of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren, Brad Harlan and wife Lesha of Rose Bud; Brian Harlan, M.D. and wife Carriann of Salt Lake City, Utah, Kayela Jones and husband Todd of Mt. Vernon, Melissa and husband Tony Woodruff, M.D. of Fayetteville; eleven great-grandchildren, Trent, Taylor and Kyndl Harlan, Dugan and Anna Kaye Jones, Cooper, Amelia and Olivia Harlan, Lit, Sam and Sullivan Woodruff; a brother, Joe Harlan and wife Aarah of Russellville, Kentucky and a sister, Mary Alice Hill and husband Milburn of Ward.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Romance Cemetery.
