Claudia Joan Pullen Cogburn, age 83, of Norman, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022.
She was born on October 10, 1938, in Black Springs, the daughter of Emory Alvin Pullen and Dolly O’Neal Pullen. On September 10, 1955, she was married to the love of her life, James Lloyd Cogburn. She was preceded in death by two sons, James Randall “Randy” Cogburn and Jeffery Lloyd Cogburn; her parents; and two sisters, Wilda Bobo and Juanita Crawford.
She had a great passion for arranging delicious fish fries, cookouts, family get togethers, and pretty much any occasion she could come up with she would diligently work to arrange a wonderful get together for her family and friends to enjoy. Claudia was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved her family with all her heart and enjoyed every minute she was able to spend time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband, James “Jim” Cogburn of Norman; her three daughters and their spouses, Janelle Graves of Glenwood, Necie and Marvin Thew of Mount Ida and Jan and Tom West of Caddo Gap; sixteen grandchildren, Dawn Broadbent, John McRae, Jamie Dorough, Jeremy Graves, Adam Cogburn, Brandi Tweedle, Candra Jennings, Jessica Graves, Tyler Graves, April Galloway, Raelee Perry, Abby West, Kaleb West, Averi Cogburn, Justin Terry and David Terry; several great-grandchildren; her niece, Carol Foster and her husband, Sam; her nephew, Bill Bobo; and numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 4, 2022, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Jeremy Graves officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Mount Gilead Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John McRae, Jeremy Graves, Tyler Graves, Adam Cogburn, Kaleb West, Wylie Graves, Andy Plyler and Bill Bobo.
