Claudia "Granny" Bowling

 

Claudia “Granny” Bowling, age 90, of Glenwood, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022.

 

She was born on August 21, 1931, born in Glenwood, the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Reynolds and Josephine Carter Reynolds. On December 23, 1948, she was married to the true love of her life, Bobby Gene Bowling, who preceded her in death on October 12, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Travis Gene Bowling and Gary Wayne Stacks, II; three brothers, Floyd Reynolds, Junior Reynolds, and Hardie Joe Reynolds; and three sisters, Bernice Tigue, Stella Hopper VanVleet, and Jicie Mae Weatherford.

 

She attended Mount Calvary Church and worked for twenty-five years at Mount Ida Footwear. She enjoyed quilting and growing her flowers. Granny, as she was lovingly known by everyone, was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, whose greatest joy in life was taking care of her family. She was so proud of each and every member of her family and loved spending time with them, especially all of her grands. Granny will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

 

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Glenn and Rita Bowling of Montrose, Colorado and James and Pam Bowling of Perryville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda Milner of West Point, Mississippi, Norma and Orvin Foster of Mena and Connie and Bud Forrester of Glenwood; her grandchildren, Robby Bowling, Kim Turner, Rachael Nichols, Elisha Poss, Larisa Ziegelmann, Sherri Sikes, Joe Foster, Gina Richardson, Leslie Foster, Neal Foster, Crystal Rowton and Kanon Forrester; many loving and adoring great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Amos and Kathy Reynolds of Hopper; one sister, Mattie Bell Bowling of Hot Springs; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday June 22, 2022, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Ralph Hamilton and Hardie Reynolds, Jr. officiating.

 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the services.

 

Internment will be in the Nelson Cemetery

 

Pallbearers will be Dustin Upton, Kanon Forrester, Jimmy Chancellor, Hardie Reynolds, Jr., Marty Reynolds, and Mitch Sikes.    

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Emily Thomas, RN with Elite Hospice and the nurses and staff of the Glenwood Health and Rehab for all the wonderful and loving care they gave our precious Granny.
