Claud Harkrider

Claud L. Harkrider "Poppie" age 76 died Friday, September 12, 2014 at his home. He
was born October 28, 1937 the son of Arlin and Orleen Moore Harkrider. He served on
the Bismarck School Board, Central Arkansas Telephone Board, and the Bismarck Fire
Department. He was a member of the Crooked Barrel Hunting Club and DeRoche
Missionary Baptist Church. Claud was a home builder, raised cattle on his beloved farm
and raised the best tomatoes in Bismarck. He loved to sit on his porch swing and visit
with friends. He especially loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and doing
whatever they wanted to do. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Pate,
Bonnie Koski, Wilda Harkrider, and one brother, Paul Harkrider.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty Burroughs Harkrider, three daughters,
Beverly (Gary) Woodall of Hot Springs, Karen (Ricky) Herrin of Bismarck, and Sandra
(Terry) Roberts of Arkadelphia, one son, Arlin Harkrider of Bismarck, nine
grandchildren, Jill (Shawn) Francis, Stephanie Herrin, Erica (Cody) Boothe, Jamie (Ben)
Caple, Clay (Michaele) Woodall, Kristan (Daniel) Bolding, Adam and Reed Roberts,
great grandchildren, Hunter Francis, Bentley Caple, baby Faelynn Boothe due in
December, Clint O'Dwyer, Sabrina, Dirk, and Dylan Woodall, two brothers, Gerald
(Lula) Harkrider and Glen (Dian) Harkrider and two sisters, Maxine (Johnny) Leder and
Marilyn (Ronnie) Hunt.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday September 15th in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral
Chapel in Arkadelphia with Pastor Chris Morrison officiating. Burial will be in the
DeRoche Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
