Clarence Joseph Kuhn of Maumelle, Arkansas joined the Lord on February 27, 2016. Clarence was born on July 12, 1917 in Quincy, Illinois to parents Theodore and Ann Kuhn. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Evelyn, three brothers Carl, Albert, and John, two sisters Virginia and Esther, and his wife of 42 years Barbara Kuhn. Clarence is survived by a sister, Sister Florence Kuhn of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ, daughter Barbara Willier (Rev. Don Willier) of Centre, AL, son James Rector (Freda) of Houston, TX, son John Rector (Diane) of Vilonia, AR, son Michael Rector (Roz) of Little Rock, AR, 18 Grandchildren, 43 Great-Grandchildren, and 17 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Clarence graduated from Quincy High School in 1936 and immediately went to work for a dime store. He served in the US Navy with the rank Boatswain Mate First Class. After his service, Clarence joined Sears for a 26 year career in management and was members in numerous Civic Organizations. After retirement from Sears, Clarence founded Peneprime of Arkansas, a local asphalt paving company, which is currently operating in its 45th year. Clarence attended Christ the King Catholic Church where he ushered for over 30 years. He enjoyed playing bridge, golf, and spending time with the many children in his family. Clarence was a holy, happy, and kind man who touched many lives, and he will be missed by many family and friends
Vigil/Rosary service will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday March 1st, 2016 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Little Rock, AR. Funeral will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday March 2nd, 2016 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Little Rock, AR presided by the Rev. Monsignor Francis Malone, Pastor. Interment will immediately follow at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle, AR.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ, P.O. Box 1 Donaldson, IN 46513.
