Clara Opal (Jones) Manning, 96, of Bryant passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013. She was a member of Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock since 1948. As the Matriarch of the "Manning Family" she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whom the extended family turned to for advice about every thing from country cooking to raising kids, mixed with her brand of nurturing encouragement , and lastly that "Loving Hug" when dearly needed.
She is survived by her son, Larry Oran Manning; daughter-in-law, Jane Manning; three grandsons, Greg (Teena), Phillip (Kelley) and Marion Manning; six granddaughters, Mary (Paul) Mulroy, Vickie (Dan) Billman, Terri (Frank) Harwood, Lisa (Bill) Pearrow, Mona (Doug) Hunnicutt and Kelli (Dennis) Bradshaw; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ella Blyeth Jones; husband, Oran "Buck" Manning; sons, Marion Dale Manning, Sr. and William Darrol Manning; three brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to Saline Memorial Hospice, 23157 Interstate 30, Bryant, Arkansas 72022.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., before service time at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.smithfamilycares.com.
