Clara Elkins

Clara Elkins, age 77, of Norman, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016. She was born on February 8, 1939 in DeQueen, the daughter of Luther "Monk" Smith and Luella Coleman Smith. She was a retired certified nursing assistant and member of the Church of God International. She loved being with family and playing with her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed sitting in her cedar rocker on the deck and looking at nature around her. She is survived by her husband, Ron Elkins of Norman; two children, Billy Martz of Avery, Texas and Charlotte Vanderhoff of Norman; her brother, Turner Smith of Texarkana, Texas; her sister, Katie Henson of Texarkana, Texas; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 6, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Pastor Charles Gross officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, 1:00 PM until service time, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
