Clara Evelyn (Elmore) Brooks, 99, of Little Rock passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010. She was born March 24, 1910 in Pleasant Hill Community in Lonoke County to Horace Greely and Mary Etta (Howell) Elmore. She attended Four Square Gospel Church in Little Rock.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Sharp, of Little Rock; son and daughter-in-law, Ben M. and Carolyn Brooks, of Perryville; daughter-in-law, Sharon Brooks, of Bentonville; five grandchildren, Carie Whitham, Jamie Hawkins (Merlin), John Brooks (Renee'), Dayna Duncan (Ted), and Jonathan Brooks; eleven great-grandchildren, Brooks, Tracie, Erik, Corbin, Clayton, Hailey, Katie, Jacob, Rachelle, Joey and Laura; two great-great-grandchildren; and special cousin, Bert Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben M. Brooks, Sr.; her parents; two sons, Doyle Dewayne Brooks and James "Jim" Brooks; daughter, Dorthy Ellen Brooks; grandson, Ronald Brooks; great-grandson, Andrew Whitham; daughter-in-law, Donna Brooks; son-in-law, Leon Sharp; six brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
