Clara "Nana" Magdalene Fisher Brock, 97, of Little Rock, born December 24, 1909 in Forrest City, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2007. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Little Rock. Nana was a true Southern lady who dearly loved her family, her garden and her church. At a young age, she taught herself to play the piano and spent many happy hours with her music.
Mrs. Brock is survived by two sons, George W. (Sonny) Brock, Jr. (Billie Jean) and Douglas H. Brock (Treva); two daughters, Carmen Hall and Gayle Hoffman (Ralph); five sisters, Eula Ryan, Dora King, Mary Binkley, Paula Nickells and Lois Beggs; eleven grandchildren, Bobby Hall (Catherine), Terri Elliott (Joe), Dale Brock, Arthur Hall (Gretchen), Debra Brock, Christy Smith (David), Wendy DiCicco (Rob), Jamie Wadlington (Michael), Jenni Haggard (Michael), Michelle Winn (Michael) and special grandson, Capt. Todd Fisher Bradford (Nyree) now serving in Iraq; great-grandchildren, Carrie, Brock, Maggie, Ben, Sam, William, Holly, Cheye Anne, Evan, Heather, Michael, Josh, Sarabeth, Zane, Khayman, Emily, Khloe, Olivia and Hudson; great-great-grandchildren, Peyton and Dylan.
Preceding her in death were her husband, George W. Brock, Sr.; parents, Fred Henderson and Mary Wogaman Fisher; her only brother, William H. Fisher; two sisters, Bertha Benton and Freddie Jones; sons-in-law, Bob Hall and Charlie Bradford; and daughter-in-law, Marian Brock.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 18, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19 in the Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ed Simpson, Rev. Searcy McBurnett and Tim Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Special thanks are given to Dr. Ghassan Wali, the 7A and 3B nurses at Baptist Health System, and the staff at the Roberts Building of Good Shepherd Ecumenical Retirement Center.
Also, the family wishes to especially thank for their tender and loving care: LaRita Murchison, Doris Hudson and LaShonta Ramey.
