CJ Bryant

CJ Bryant, age 89, of Mayflower, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, to join his wife Carmen Bryant in their heavenly home. He was the second identical twin born on December 18, 1934, to the late Jesse and Maggie Bryant.

CJ grew up in Little Rock but moved to Mayflower closer to his retirement. He was a locomotive engineer for over 40 years and worked for the Rock Island Railroad then the Union Pacific Railroad. Prior to that, he was a Crew Chief in the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War.

Pawpaw, as his grandchildren knew him, loved to hunt and fish in his younger years. He could also fix anything and if he didn’t volunteer to do it, Grammy (his wife) volunteered for him. You could catch him almost any time of the year sitting on his front porch waving to his neighbors, looking at the birds, or watching a soccer game with his buddy Lee.

CJ is survived by his daughter Stacy Brady (Brian) of Maumelle and son Daniel Bryant (Susan) of Fayetteville; five grandsons, Tyler Pickell (Christine) of North Little Rock, Logan Pickell of Conway, Westin Pickell of Fayetteville, Breeland Bryant of Fayetteville and Greyson Bryant of Fayetteville; twin great granddaughters Cece and Rowan Pickell of North Little Rock; his twin brother Jc Bryant (Imogene) of Mabelvale and many nieces and nephews. His wife, his parents, and his brother Jesse Bryant predecease him.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 3rd at 11:00 AM at Mayflower First Baptist Church. Burial will be after the services at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
