Christopher Robert Scott

Christopher Robert Scott, 45, of Little Rock, transitioned peacefully from this life on January 17, 2023.  He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Jerry and Cindy Scott on September 24, 1977.

Chris was a proud alumnus of Catholic High School for Boys (C/O 1996) and the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville (C/O 2000).  He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences.  Chris realized from a very young age that he wanted to pursue a career in television, specifically in sports.  His distinguished career began as he served as an intern at KATV in 1999. His supervisors recognized his potential, and he quickly earned a full-time position with the station.  In his 21 years at KATV, he worked his way from Editor of the Sports department to News Producer, ultimately rising to the position of Assistant News Director.  He was frequently called upon to direct countless special broadcast productions at KATV, closely working with the University of Arkansas Department of Athletics.  If KATV broadcast a Razorback pre-season or post-season special, Chris was the mastermind behind it.  Chris captured multiple Emmy Awards for the stories and broadcasts that he worked on or produced.  He was currently serving as the highly regarded News Producer at KLRT Fox 16 in Little Rock.

Chris was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan, St. Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed playing and watching golf.  In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports with friends.  The outpouring of concern and support during Chris’s most recent illness is a testament to the impact that he had on the lives of others.  Many of Chris’s co-workers both past and present have described his strong work ethic, willingness to help others, sense of humor, and outgoing personality.

Chris is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Scott; his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Linnea Hays; and paternal grandmother, Anita Scott. Survivors include his mother, Cindy Scott; sister, Robin (Kevin) Nolder of Little Rock; nephews, Noah and Ryan Nolder.  Other survivors include his uncles, Pat (Linda) Hays and Mike Hays both of North Little Rock; along with a host of extended family and friends.

The family plans to host a celebration of Chris’s life in the coming weeks.
