Christine "Chris" Lookadoo age 87 of Arkadelphia died Monday, May 12, 2008 in Arkadelphia. She was born April 22, 1921 in Fendley, Arkansas the daughter of Jesse and Leona Deaton Shepherd. Chris was a member of First United Methodist Church of Arkadelphia. She was the widow of Weldon Lookadoo and preceded in death by one daughter, Catherine Lee Lookadoo; two brothers, Ollie and Clyde Shepherd; two sisters, Nellie Ogle and Marge Francis.
Survivors are one daughter, Diane Carol Browne of Orinda, CA.; one son, John Weldon Lookadoo of College Station, TX; two grandchildren, John Michael Lookadoo and Kathaleen Christine Lookadoo both of College Station, TX; one brother, Harold Shepherd of Arkadelphia; two sisters, Christell Corn of Arkadelphia and Jean Walter of Lafayette, CA.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 15, 2008 in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Carroll Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 6-8 PM at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
