Christine Doster

Christine Doster, age 74, of Amity, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. She was born on December 25, 1944 in Amity, the daughter of Horace Howell and Norma Lee Johnson Howell. After losing her parents at a very young age, she was raised by her grandparents, Art and Lea Johnson. On March 1, 1963, she was married to Jimmy Doster. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and her sister, Ruth "Sissy" Buck. She loved family gatherings, holidays and camping at the lake. She always enjoyed cooking and was very good at it. She loved to watch her granddaughters softball games. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Doster of Amity; her daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Jason Boyd of Alpine; her granddaughter, Emmery Boyd; two brothers, Roger Howell and Mike Howell, both of Texas; her sister, Marsha Shifflett of Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 20, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Ron Buck officiating. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
