Cheryl Beth Fox aka "Pook", of Benton, AR passed on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at National Park Hospital in beautiful Hot Springs, AR at the age of 64. She was born to the late Coy and Daurice Nipp Denton on March 8, 1950 in the "Home of Blues & BBQ", Memphis, TN. She attended Treadwell High School. (c/o 1968) She worked for the Board of Education and spent 30 years at FedEx-Memphis/Sacramento. Retiring with honors. 21 gun salute-trumpets-a parade... All the bells & whistles...
She was married to Ora R Fox of Sacramento, CA for 17 love-filled years. They were the bestest of buddies. Traveling the world, sampling expensive wines and cheeses and treating her like the queen she was. He was her "Watash" and she was his "Pookster". She lost him 7 yrs ago and spoke kindly of him every day since his passing.
Cheryl "Pook" Fox was a simple soul. She loved her close family and in-laws and treated them with kindness and love. She loved telling stories of family and reminding everyone of where she came from. Country cooking, classic country music and good conversation over a good cup of coffee were among a few of her favorite things. She was truly a patriotic American and had a soft spot for our soldiers. She was a obsessive collector of "Fox" memorabilia. Curio's full of cups, figurines, wines and even a dead stuffed fox. If it had a fox on it, she owned it. Alas, she was a daddies girl at heart. She lost her father, Coy Denton in 2001 after long battle with cancer and her mother, Daurice Denton in 2014 to leukemia. She cherished them both.
Cheryl leaves behind a legacy of stories, her massive Fox collection and a collection of memories that will forever be remembered by her family, for generations to come.
Cheryl "Pook" Fox is survived by her son, Kelly Sullivan of Benton, AR, her daughter, Kittie Sullivan of Memphis, TN, her daughter, Amanda Sullivan of Benton, AR, two grand-daughters, Kayleigh & Avery, a grand-son, Taylor Shaw, Lance Corporal-USMC and her sister, Linda Moletree of Memphis, TN. She also leaves a cluster of grand-dogs behind. Black Bart, Capt.Gravyboat, Mr Schnitzel, and Ozwald Pawzborne of Benton, AR and Murphalicious, Flat-Tooth-Shaggs, Daisy-Maes and Dr. Ginsberg of Memphis, TN. And an estranged flea ridden cat of Benton named Pascal. (meow)
Pook's wishes were to be cremated and taken home with her close family. Instead of a service, she requested a Rememberance Party to be held in her honor for close family and friends. She requested instead of traditional items to be sent in her honor, she encourages you instead to make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project. All donations can be made online in her honor at: https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/HONOR
