Cheryl Elizabeth Brewer, 65, of Benton, Arkansas passed away May 26, 2018. She was born December 23, 1952 to Gloria G. Phillips and the late Charles P. Phillips in Malvern, AR.
She was a devout Christian and loved the Lord.
Her career was in the electrical business and served as Sales Supervisor for Arkansas Electric Ccoperative until she retired. In 2009, she received the distinguished award of Employee of the Year at AECI for dedication to her customers during the aftermath of the 2008 snow and ice storm. Working 47 days straight, some through the night, she supplied the needs to rebuild electrical grids throughout a four state area.
She loved gardening and canning-winning Grand Champion Blue Ribbons for her pickles, jams and jellies on both County and State level. Cheryl was a master chef having learned to cook by scratch from her Mom and Grandmothers. She passed her love of cooking to her Granddaughters teaching them the art of dumpling, cornbread dressing and the best ever chocolate fudge. Truly a traditional at heart, her passion was Mahogany furniture, Wedgewood Jasperware and bunnies which celebrated her son's birth on Easter morning.
Preceding Cheryl in death are her husband, James "Sandy" Brewer; father, Charles P. Phillips; grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Ewell Phillips and James and Pauline Golding; uncle, Stephen L. Golding; and brother-in-law, Carroll H. Hambric.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Robert Winters and his wife Kelli; granddaughters: Lindsey Kate and Lily Grace Winters; her mother, Gloria Phillips; her sister, Linda Hambric; nephew, Jarrod (Brandy) & niece, Preslee and nephew Ethan Hambric; aunt, Alyce (Charles) Smothers all of Benton and uncle, Bill (Ann) Golding of Malvern and their children Amy, Lori, and Jamey; her "sister" cousin, Julie Hawkins and a host of family and friends
Visitation held from 9:00-11:00 AM Wednesday, May 30 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 North Market Street, Benton, Arkansas. Funeral service, officiated by Brother Will Diggs, follows immediately at 11:00 AM. A private burial will follow at Phillips Cemetery, Lono, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers the family graciously asks that memorials be made to the Boys' and Girls' Club, Citizen's Way, Benton, Arkansas.
