Charlie Hubbard, age 84 of Gurdon died Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at his home. He was born June 15, 1921 in Arkadelphia, AR the son of the late Elmer and Mary B. Willingham Hubbard. He was a dragline operator for the Arkadelphia Sand and Gravel Co., a Baptist and a WWII Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linnie Martin Hubbard on July 12, 1988.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Hubbard of Gum Springs and Kenneth Gaither of Dumas, AR; four daughters, Judy Williams of Glenwood, Polly Hammonds, and Lucy Jester both of Gurdon, Lola Manies of Dumas; two brothers, Wallace and Jim Hubbard both of Bismarck; two sisters, Shirley Hurst of Arkadelphia and Doris Collison of Ft. Worht, TX; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 14, 2006 in Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Bro. James McCain officiating. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
