Charles William (Billy) Yancey, 77 of Jacksonville, passed away on April 29th, 2020. He was born on August 14th, 1942 to William Sanders Yancey and Ellen Frances Pullum.
He was in the United States Army and fought in Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 10442 Auxiliary in Rose City. He loved wood working and putting puzzles together that he related to his life experiences or his enjoyment of it. He made the frames for all of the puzzles himself. He was a very private man unless you were talking about his passions. He was a very kind man that had a suspicious smile at times!
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Frances (Pullum) Burgess, his step-father John Burgess, brother LeeRoy Yancey, brother-in-law Earl (Junior) Martin, and niece's Paula Subuh and Patricia Keister.
He is survived by his sister Betty Martin of N.L.R, Arkansas, sister Elaine Reed of Warsaw, Indiana, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday May 5th, 2020 at Smith Funeral Home at 7700 Highway 107 Sherwood, AR.
Private Burial will follow at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR.
Drop in Visitation will be held on Monday May 4th, 2020 from 9 a.m until 5 p.m at Smith Funeral Home in Sherwood, AR. Family members may or may not be present at the time due to COVID-19 regulations.
