Charles Williams

Charles V. Williams, of McRae, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 23, 2015.

Charles "Pop" Williams was a great father, husband, and leader to all his family. Throughout his life he provided for his family by working in timber as a logger, steel mill worker, and cemetery attendant. He served his community as a member of the McRae Fire Department for many years and was ordained as a Deacon at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church on January 13, 1966. Pop was saved by the blood of Jesus and was a seated Deacon and devoted member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of McRae for over thirty years.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Wanda L. Williams; their two sons, Franklin Williams of McRae, and Carl and wife Tina Williams of McRae; their five grandchildren, Sean Williams of Beebe, Benjamin and wife Becky Williams of McRae, Christopher Williams of Beebe, Chas and wife Audrey Williams of McRae, and Carly and husband Zachariah Hayes of McRae; along with their nine great-grandchildren, Timothy, Evan, Peyton Savannah, Caitlin, Haley, Chloe, Tidence Williams, and Link Hayes; one brother, Don and wife Lil Williams of Alexander; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Oscar and Bertha Lee Kirtley Williams; three brothers, J.B., Amos (spouse: Anna Jean Williams) and William Paul (spouse: Diana Williams); and one great grandchild, Brian Yearta, Jr.

Family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Weir Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home.
