SMSgt. Charles "Charlie" B. Thomas, (USAF, Ret.), 76, of Jacksonville, passed away September 24, 2019 with his family at his side. Born in Shamokin, Pennsylvania to Betty M. and Charles Luther Thomas, he retired from an active military career of 26 years in the Air Force and Marine Corps, followed by a 23 year career in the banking industry.

Preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Walter T. Thomas, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elaine Rinehart Thomas; children, Carole Anne Kregear (Michael), Cindy Helmbeck (Todd) and Chuck Thomas (Tricia); siblings, Gregg Thomas (Sheryl), Mark Thomas (Bonnie), Diane Seger (Judd), and sister-in-law, Judy Thomas; his grandchildren, Blake Mattison (Jessica), Alyssa Miller (Seth), Carley Blake (Antonio), Chase Thomas (Bethany Long), Hannah Nicholas (Keaton), Megan Cavano (Anthony Watts), Claire Thomas, Kylan Foley (Shad) and Kramer Helmbeck; great-grandchildren, Laynie, Tinley and Emery Miller, Aiden and Anakin Blake, Gregory Foley, and soon-to-be-born, Easton Watts; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening, September 29 from 6-8 p.m. at Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville, with services on Monday, September 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 12:00 Noon at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
