Charles Michael "Chuck" Smyly, age 61, of Bismarck, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at his home. He was born December 24, 1952 to Charles Ernest and Maggie Whitworth Smyly. Chuck attended the First Assembly of God Church in Hot Springs. Chuck was a gifted athlete and coached pewee football at Bismarck for several years. He was a former member of the Bismarck School Board. He was preceded in death by his father, a daughter, Heather Smyly and a sister, Leesa Corn.
Survivors are his wife, Cheryl Bunn Smyly; one son, Drew Smyly and his wife, Amber of Lonoke, Arkansas; his mother, Maggie Smyly of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; one brother, Darryl Smyly of Marrero, Louisiana; one sister, Beth Smyly of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; his mother-in-law, Alberta Bunn; brother-in-law, Gerald Bunn and wife, Brenda; sister-in-law, Betty Bunn all of Bismarck; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:30 AM Monday, January 27th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Bro. Ben Wiles and Bro. Alan Cansler officiating. Interment will be in Prairie Bayou Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Smith, Ronnie Robbins, Kelly Hodges, Clay Bunn, Mike Bunn, Darren Bunn, Ryan Thornton and Tyler Thornton. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Smith, Gerald Bunn and Vicki Phillips. Memorials may be made to International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, Wings of Eagles Program, 30 N.
