Charles Augustus Rosenbaum, Sr.

December 18, 1934 — September 19, 2022

Charles Augustus Rosenbaum, Sr.

On September 19, 2022, Charles Augustus Rosenbaum, Sr., 87, surrounded by his wife of 55 years, Shirley, and all four of his children, took his last breath on this earth and his first breath in the presence of the one he loved so deeply. Charles was a man of few words, a man of great class and dignity, a man of honor whose word meant something. He was a man whose love for his children and grandchildren knew no bounds. He had very high moral standards that served him well all the days of his life. Charles was happiest in the middle of a field somewhere on a tractor; if there are tractors in Heaven, he has probably already found one.

He graduated Castle Heights Military Academy and attended University of Little Rock and University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Charles was Vice Chairman of Arkansas Glass Containers in Jonesboro for 35 years.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Rosenbaum; his children, Charles Rosenbaum, Jr., Joanna Murphy (Darren), Cary Rosenbaum (Leann) and Jordan Rosenbaum (Bethany); grandchildren, Brian Bierman, Jr., Hayden Rosenbaum, Ethan Rosenbaum, Kailyn Rosenbaum, Colton Rosenbaum, Indie Rosenbaum and Rooney Rosenbaum; his brother, Carl Rosenbaum (Martha); nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Carl and Mildred Rosenbaum, sister, Jean Ann Morris (Bob) and niece, Lisa Morris.

Memorials may be made to University of Arkansas Chi Alpha, 612 N. Leverett Ave., Fayetteville, AR 72701 or the Southern Christian Children’s Home, 100 W. Harding St., Morrilton, AR 72110, click here to donate online.

A private graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock.  Arrangements by Smith Little Rock Funeral Home.
