Charles Rosa

Charles Rosa died peacefully in his sleep on March 18, 2016, one month after his 82 birthday. His wife, Karon Rosa and two daughters, Kara and Kris, survive him. He was a loving Pops to Chandler, Jett and Beckham McKenzie.

Two brothers, Bill and Don Rosa, remain of the four boys of William H. and Verda Rosa.
Charles was president and owner of Rosa Oil Company, a family business operated for almost 100 years by the Rosa family. Athletics and trout fishing were his passion. His sports career included playng basketball and baseball for Russellville High School and Arkansas Tech. He was an All-State Coach and had a career as catcher for the St. Louis Cardinal's organization.

He came from a long family line of politicians and business owners in Stone County. His political career included serving as the Sherriff and Collector of Stone County, to overcome the "Old Guard". He held the distinction of being the youngest and only single Sherriff in the state, at that time. His last night was spent sharing these Sherriff Stories with three very excited Grands. He then watched his last ball game and went to sleep peacefully dreaming of leaving the next day for Cardinal Spring Training in Florida.

His most cherished rolls were as family man, son, brother, husband, father, uncle and pops. Pallbearers are his nieces, nephews, the "Law Breakers Fishing Club" along with Gill Butler and Jerry Branscum.
