Charles Ray Brewer, age 74, of Black Springs, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012. He was born on July 20, 1937, at Black Springs, the son of Clarence Edward Brewer and Faye Olive Cowart Brewer. On August 25, 1955, he was married to Melba Sells. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He is survived by his wife, Melba Brewer of Black Springs; five daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Tommy Hamner of Black Springs, Vicki and Don Brown of Norman, Stephanie and Dan Dalton of Bonnerdale, Vonda and Randy Roberts of Norman and Jennifer and Jack Wilhite of Mount Ida; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; his twin sister, Anna Black and her husband, Austin, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his brother-in-law, Marvin Black of Black Springs; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 31, 2012, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with John Hall and Dale Howell officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Murphy Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Cub Black, Joey Black, Larry Black, Jeff Black, Denny Cowart and Shane Black. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
