Charles Ray Beggs

Charles (Chuck) Ray Beggs, 78, of Sherwood, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2023.

Charles (Chuck) Ray Beggs was born in Ida Lou, Texas on November 28, 1944. He married his sweetheart, Melinda Lou Jones, on August 28, 1966, and they were blessed with their wonderful daughter, Jodi Katherine Beggs Cockerham, on September 14, 1974, and one granddaughter, Abby Cockerham. He graduated from Hope High School in 1963 and South Arkansas University (Southern State College) in May of 1967 with a degree in business administration. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sherwood. Chuck was employed for 32 years with the Federal Reserve Bank of Little Rock as assistant head of safekeeping, assistant manager of securities and general service, and finally, manager of support services. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed camping, hunting, traveling, tennis, bridge, woodworking, and building. In his lifetime, he also accumulated 3 Hole-in-Ones.

He is survived by his wife, Melinda Beggs; daughter, Jodi Beggs Cockerham; granddaughter, Abby Cockerham; sister, Karen Beggs Massey; nephew Bill Massey (Beth); and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, V.B. and Sarah Beggs, and his brother, Jerry Thomas Beggs.
