Charles Perry Patton, 66, passed away February 12, 2017 at his home in Benton, Arkansas. He was born on May 11, 1950 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to William E. and Sammie Noles Patton.
Charles grew up in Hot Springs, Ten Mile, Benton, and Jones Mill, Arkansas. He graduated from Magnet Cove High School in 1968. After high school he attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He worked in manufacturing, transportation, and sales.
Charles married Jeanette Roberts in 1983 in Benton, Arkansas. They were happily married for 34 years. Charles was a faithful member of North Bryant Baptist Church. His church family was a vital part of his life. He enjoyed a hot, strong cup of coffee, good conversation, planning quirky inventions, writing poetry, and family celebrations. His warm smile, his quick wit, and his compassion for others will be greatly missed.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Sammie Patton. He is survived by his wife Jeanette and his daughter Laura Patton of Benton, Arkansas; his sisters, April (James) Counts, Deborah (Skip) Radican, and Rebecca Patton, all of Benton and Yvonne (Richard) Lovell of Little Rock, Arkansas; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, February 16, Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 17, North Bryant Baptist Church, 2710 N. Prickett Rd., Bryant, Arkansas. Burial following at Ten Mile Cemetery.
