Charles Lewis McCarthy, Jr., 82, of Mabelvale, Arkansas passed away December 14, 2018. He was born July 6, 1936 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Charles had a passion for life and lived it to it's fullest. He travelled extensively, spending a lot of time in Europe and all over the United States. Charles was a "foodie" and enjoyed trying cuisine of all types. He was a story-teller and would keep his audience enthralled by his colorful stories. Spending time with his family was the highlight of Charles' day, including attending Keith Urban's concert just last month.
Preceding Charles in death are his parents; Charles Lewis and Margaret (Brouse) McCarthy, Sr.; brother, John Dicky McCarthy; and his aunt and uncle who lovingly raised him as their own, Will and Fay McCarthy.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, LuAnn Penland and husband John of Mabelvale, Arkansas; niece, Debra Sain and husband Darrell of Mabelvale; two nephews: Steve Penland and wife Terri of Alexander, Arkansas and Richard Penland of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; great-nephew, Casey McCarthy and wife Lindsay of Bryant, Arkansas and their daughters Riley and Willow McCarthy; and a host of family and friends who love Charles and will miss him always.
