Charles Lindbergh Mays, age 87, was welcomed into the arms of Angels on November 30, 2018. He will be laid to rest by his beloved wife of 45 years, Mavis Jordan who preceded him in death in 2016.
Charles was born to Charles T. Mays and Estella Wallace on December 24, 1930 in Leachville, Arkansas. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving as a cannoneer in Japan. Charles loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball and he enjoyed fishing with his family.
He is survived by his step-children, Beverly Cownover and husband Earl, Henry (skip) Hunter and wife Paulette,
Jacqueline Gumbert, and Billy Joe Steinmetz and wife Nikki. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 15th, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home Beebe, with funeral to follow in the chapel. Burial is in Wattensaw Cemetery, Lonoke, Arkansas. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home. www.smithfamilycares.com
