Charles L. Lindsey, age 85, of Bonnerdale, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011. He was born on February 25, 1926, in Mineral Springs, the son of Ernest Monroe Lindsey and Ailey Elizabeth Whisenhunt Lindsey. On August 2, 1952, he was married to Odessa Yarbrough. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Mae Pearl Jackson, Paralee Arivett, Pauline Hubbert, Florine Richards, Lucille Lindsey, Beatrice Lindsey and Bernice Tolleson. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II and a farmer. He was a cattle rancher and hay maker who enjoyed watching his cows and working the garden. He is survived by his wife, Odessa Lindsey of Bonnerdale; four children and their spouses, Danny Charles and Stacy Lindsey of Baytown, Texas, Virginia Ann and Randy Miller of Bonnerdale, Johnny Ray Lindsey of Russellville and Velva Kay and Ernie Nichols of Atlanta, Texas; five grandchildren and their spouses, Dana and Kyle Cowart, Dathan and Rhonda Lindsey, Keri Lindsey, John and Angel Lindsey and Ryan and Melissa Miller; four great-grandchildren, Dodge Cowart, Kallee Cowart, Kaylee Lindsey and Braden Lindsey; three step-grandchildren, Sean Nichols and his wife, Carmen, Calvin Nichols and Justin Lenderman; and two sisters, Ernestine Wilson of Glenwood and Josephine Griffith of Hot Springs. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 18, 2011, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Kyle Cowart officiating. Interment will be in Mazarn Chapel Cemetery near Bonnerdale. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
