Charles Douglas Jones, age 79, of Daisy, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022.
He was born on February 12, 1943, in Daisy, the son of Clarence Roy Jones and Irma Marie Tedder Jones. On March 20, 1970, he was married to the true love of his life, Charlotte Dianne Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Virginia Hegler; and his brother-in-law, Danny Jenkins.
He was a Christian in his faith and attended the Daisy Freewill Baptist Church. For over forty-three years he worked at Certainteed in Nashville until his retirement in 2009. After he retired, Charles loved to follow his grandkids playing ball all over the state. He was an avid deer hunter, fisherman, enjoyed mowing the grass, growing his gardens and loved to piddle around in his woodshop.
Charles was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, whose greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, who he loved with all his heart. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Charlotte Jones of Daisy; his three children and their spouses, Brandon and Missy Jones and Brooke Jones, all of Daisy and Whitney and Anthony Williamson of Glenwood; his seven grandchildren and their spouses, Reagon and Tyler Rhoden, Spencer Jones, Kendall and Gage Dyer, Keegan Williamson, McKenzie Jones, Mylee Jones and Kathryn Williamson; his two brothers and one sister-in-law, Hubert Jones and Roy and Bonnie Jones, all of Daisy; his sister, Gwen Jenkins of Glenwood; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in the Daisy Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Kevin Jewell officiating.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM, prior to the services at the church.
Interment will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Pallbearers will be Tim Cogburn, Eric Jenkins, Kaleb Cogburn, Kolin Cogburn, Tim Trout and Gary Jones.
