Charles Johnson

Charles Roger Johnson

December 8, 1970 - January 17, 2022

Charles Johnson passed away January 17, 2022, at the age of 51.  He was born December 8, 1970, during a blizzard in Portland, ME to parents Terry and Cheri Johnson.

He lived in Saline County since the age of 13, where he was a 1989 graduate of Benton High School. He graduated from Pulaski County Technical College with an Associate Degree in Computer Maintenance Technology in 1999.  He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Benton, AR.

Charley loved spending time with family and friends.  He was a big fan of the Texas Longhorns, Boston Red Sox and the Dallas Cowboys.  Charles was employed at SBS, Inc. in Little Rock, AR.  He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in May of 2012.  Always a hard worker, he continued working at SBS until 2014 when he was physically unable to.   He enjoyed giving lottery tickets as gifts, always hoping they would be “winners” just as much as the person receiving them.  He was a dreamer at heart, and he and his brother, Todd, would often discuss what they would do if they won the lottery over a couple of cold beers.  Charley was a generous soul who planned to share more of the loot with his friends and family than what he would take for himself.  He loved his trips to Maine and his time with family and friends there.  He made quite a bit of spending money from picking winning horses and football teams as a hobby.  He was a quick witted, strong willed and fun loving man who refused to let his health problems get him down.

Charley is preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Hazel Johnson and Charles Littlefield.

He is survived by his parents, Terry and Cheri Johnson of Benton, AR; his brother Todd (Hope) Johnson of Greenbrier, AR; and his grandmother, Alice Littlefield of Portland, ME; uncles Robert Johnson of Chapel Hill, NC, Charles (Luann) Littlefield, and David (Bonnie) Littlefield all of Portland, ME; great aunts and uncles, many cousins, great nieces and nephews; and countless cherished friends. Charley was a proud Uncle to his nephews Thane and Hayes Johnson. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.
